meet Myron Whitaker
Myron Whitaker is a ceramic artist based between Kannapolis, North Carolina — where he grew up — and Scottsdale, Arizona. He studied ceramics in college in Troy, North Carolina, where he discovered a deep connection to Raku firing, a technique he has pursued for over 20 years.
His work centers on large-scale ceramic vessels, each incorporating unique stone fossil elements drawn directly from the earth. No two pieces are alike. Whitaker formulates all of his own glazes, combining custom chemistry with pure forms and a controlled firing process to produce work that is both technically precise and visually striking.
He exhibits widely, participating in prestigious art shows across the country and maintaining a presence in galleries throughout the US.
